This Privacy Policy describes how Figures Inc. ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Figures.

For parents and guardians: Figures is designed for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. See Section 7 for our full COPPA notice.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address — for account identification and communications
Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash (we cannot see your password)
Account creation date and last login time
Terms of Service acceptance record — date and version accepted

When you use the service, we collect:

Chat messages — your conversations with AI characters, stored to enable the service and improve safety filtering
Usage data — message counts, session data, characters interacted with

We do not collect: payment information, precise location, device identifiers, or browsing history outside Figures.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Figures service
To verify your account and authenticate logins
To enforce usage limits and terms of service
To improve our AI safety filtering and content quality
To send service-related emails (account verification, password reset)
To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Chat logs are retained to operate and improve the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

5. Cookies and Sessions

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Withdraw consent (by deleting your account)

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Notice)

Figures is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account without your consent, please contact us at contact@withfigures.com. We will promptly delete the account and associated data upon verification.

For users in the European Union, we comply with GDPR requirements regarding the processing of minors' data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice within the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
